On behalf of the Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Association (APA), we have immense pleasure in inviting participation in the 8th Asian Photochemistry Conference (APC-2014) from November 9-13, 2014 organised by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM) jointly with CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Trivandrum under the auspices of Photosciences Research Society of India.
8th Asian Photochemistry Conference (APC-2014) will showcase recent developments in photochemistry and related areas across the globe. Scientific sessions of APC-2014 will also focus on photochemistry related research that spans from physics, materials science, engineering, technology, medicine to biology. Major aim of this international gathering is to facilitate scientific discussions among the participants and look for solutions to global issues pertinent to this area of research. APC-2014 provides a platform for the young researchers, through short talks, to interact with the pioneers in photochemistry.
The conference venue is Kovalam beach, located 18 km away from IISER-TVM and 10 km away from CSIR-NIIST, Trivandrum. The conference venue is situated in the shore of Kovalam beach and easily accessible to the international/national airport through highway. Venue has conference rooms, a reception hall and restaurants. Apart from science, APC-2014 will render Kerala’s natural and cultural features to all the participants.
About Kerala: In less than an hour you can be transported from the golden sands besides the shimmering waters of the arabian sea to a cool mountaintop draped in the lush green of a tropical rainforest. On the way you might cross one of the forty rivers in the state or may even paddle across an idyllic backwater or two. Nestled in the beautiful environs of Kerala, you will also find a modern, open and developed society steeped in age old cultural and artistic traditions. From the life giving warmth of the tropical sun to the tempestuous and cool caress of the monsoon rains; from the muster of a hundred tuskers and a thousand drums at Thrissur Pooram to being all on your own on a houseboat floating on the Ashtamudi lake; from seeing ancient metallurgy at work at Aranmula, forming mirrors without glass to seeing a sounding rocket blast off from Thumba, you can experience it all in Kerala, a thin strip of land tucked away at the tip of the Indian peninsula.
